If you've ever asked how much does Mindbody actually cost? and walked away from a demo call still not sure, you're not alone. Mindbody doesn't publish prices on its website. The number you get on the call depends on your tier, your add-ons, your processing volume, and whatever the rep is allowed to discount that month.
This post is the math, not the pitch. We pulled together what's published on third-party aggregators (G2, Capterra, ITQlick, Pabau) and what's verifiable on Mindbody's own pricing page, then layered in the realistic add-ons most studios end up paying for. The goal: give you a credible all-in number before you book the demo, not after.
The four tiers in 2026
Mindbody currently sells four tiers. The names changed in 2025; earlier comparison posts may still reference the old "Ultimate Plus" name. As of the live pricing page in 2026 the lineup is Starter, Accelerate, Ultimate, Enterprise.
| Tier | Starting price (per mo) | What it gates | Typical fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | ~$99 | Basic scheduling, client list, basic reports. Branded app excluded. Advanced reports excluded. | Solo trainers, single-room studios |
| Accelerate | ~$239–279 | Adds advanced reports, automations, marketing suite (basic), API access on some plans. | Most boutique studios |
| Ultimate | ~$399–499 | Adds AI tools, advanced marketing, multi-location features. | Multi-location, higher-volume studios |
| Enterprise | $699+ / custom quote | Anything Mindbody can build for franchise / chain customers. | Franchises, 5+ locations |
Two things to keep in mind reading that table. First, those are starting prices. Real-world quotes routinely come in higher; ITQlick has reviewers reporting $500–$1,000+/mo on Accelerate-tier setups once add-ons stack. Second, the tier you need is rarely Starter. Most studios that go for Starter find a feature they need is gated and upgrade within the first 90 days.
Add-ons that push the bill up
The published tier price is rarely what studios actually pay. Here's where the spread comes from:
Branded mobile app
The branded mobile app (your studio's name and logo in the App Store and Google Play) is a separate add-on on Accelerate and Ultimate. Per third-party aggregators (ITQlick, Pabau), the Mindbody-branded version lists around $249/mo and the AXLE partner version around $299/mo. If you want a branded app, that's a flat $3,000+/year on top of your subscription.
Payment processing
POS is bundled in every tier. The catch: payment processing rides on top. Published figures land in the 1.69%–3.39% + $0.20/txn range, plus monthly PCI compliance fees. For a studio doing $40,000/mo in card revenue, that's $700–$1,400/mo just on processing, before you even count the SaaS fee.
SMS and marketing
Marketing Suite is partially gated. Outbound SMS is metered. Email volume beyond your tier's allowance is metered too. None of these are catastrophic individually, but combined they're typically $50–$200/mo on top.
Payroll
This is the one most studios get caught by. Mindbody does not have native instructor payroll — no per-class fee snapshots, no per-head bonus math, no payout reports. The standard workaround is Gusto wired in via Workato or another iPaaS. Gusto runs $80–$200/mo depending on headcount, and the integration costs add another $20–$80/mo. So payroll alone adds roughly $100–$280/mo to the all-in number.
The real monthly math
Stack a realistic add-on bundle on top of each tier and you get the all-in number that studios actually pay:
| Tier | Base | + Branded app | + Payroll (Gusto + iPaaS) | + SMS / marketing | Realistic all-in |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $99 | n/a (gated) | +$120 | +$60 | ~$279/mo |
| Accelerate | $239–279 | +$249 | +$150 | +$80 | ~$718–768/mo |
| Ultimate | $399–499 | +$249 | +$180 | +$100 | ~$928–1,028/mo |
| Enterprise | $699+ | +$249 | +$200 | +$120 | $1,268+/mo |
Setup fees and contract length
A few things to ask about on the sales call:
- Setup fee. Mindbody historically charges $200–$500 in onboarding, sometimes more for migrations. Often negotiable.
- Contract length. 12 months is standard. Some plans roll month-to-month after the first year. Cancellation terms vary by region.
- Auto-renewal. Annual contracts renew automatically. The window to opt out is usually 30–60 days before renewal — miss it and you're locked in for another year.
- Price increases. Tier prices have moved up over the past three years. Your renewal quote will not be your original quote.
Why studios are surprised by the bill
The surprise isn't usually the headline tier price — it's the layers underneath. Three things drive it:
- The demo quotes one number, the invoice has six. Branded app, SMS overage, marketing add-on, processing percentage, PCI fee, integration cost. None of these are surprises on their own; together they double the bill.
- Processing is the silent margin. A studio doing $40k/mo of card revenue often pays more in processing than they pay for the SaaS itself. That's not a Mindbody-only thing, but the rate spread is wide enough that comparing processing rates matters as much as comparing tiers.
- Feature gating is steep between tiers. Reports you assume are core (cohort retention, payroll-by-instructor, custom date-range exports) land on Accelerate or Ultimate. Most studios start on Starter and upgrade within 90 days when they realize.
What Mindbody is actually good at
This isn't a hit piece. Mindbody is a real product with two genuine moats. First, the marketplace: Mindbody's consumer app lists thousands of studios and can drive new-client acquisition if you're in a metro market where the app gets organic discovery. Second, the integration ecosystem: Mindbody has the longest list of third-party integrations in the category. If you depend on a niche tool that integrates with Mindbody and nothing else, that's a real reason to stay.
For most studios under $80k/mo in revenue, neither of those moats moves the needle enough to justify the price gap. But if either applies to you specifically, ignore the math and stick with what's working.
How Chronix Hub compares on price
Chronix Hub is one of the alternatives studios look at when the Mindbody bill gets to where it gets. The pricing is flat and published — $49/$89/$159 on early-access launch pricing, $69/$119/$219 standard once launch pricing closes. Every feature is in every plan: scheduling, payroll, POS (with tenant-defined payment-method labels), CRM, invoicing, reports, client portal, calendar feeds, schedule cards, public API. No add-on for the portal, no add-on for payroll, no add-on for advanced reports.
What Chronix Hub doesn't do, to be fair: we don't natively process card payments (you bring your own gateway or use the tenant-defined payment-method labels for record-keeping), and we don't ship a branded app in the iOS/Android store — our client portal is a mobile-first web app you can add to your home screen. If a native app store presence is non-negotiable, that's a real reason Mindbody might still be the answer.
