Client Booking Portal

Also called: member portal, booking app, studio app, member app

A client booking portal is a branded, member-facing website or app where clients book classes, manage packages, see their attendance history, and update payment details — all without calling the front desk.

Every modern studio platform ships some version of a client portal. The fork in the road is web-portal versus native-app. Native apps in the App Store offer push notifications and the home-screen icon, but they're slow to ship and many studios share an app shell branded by the platform vendor — undercutting the studio's brand.

Web portals with add-to-home-screen support (PWAs) have closed most of the gap. They install with one tap, send push notifications on most modern phones, and update instantly when the studio changes prices or schedules. Crucially, they don't depend on an App Store review or platform vendor's release calendar.

Useful portals do five things well: schedule view, one-tap booking, package/credit status, attendance history, and calendar sync. Everything else (in-app messaging, fitness tracking, content libraries) is usually a feature trap that bloats the experience and rarely gets used.

Example

A pilates studio's branded portal lives at `studio.chronixhub.com`. A member opens it on their phone, taps the next available reformer slot, confirms, and sees the booking added to their Apple Calendar via live iCal sync. No phone call, no app store install, no email back-and-forth.
