Dubai's boutique fitness scene is unusually international. Trainers cycle through on six-month visas from Sydney, Cape Town, and London. Members are a mix of long-term residents, three-month tourists who buy class packs, and corporate accounts run through HR teams in DIFC. Most studio platforms built for the US market struggle with this in two specific ways: their currency assumptions wobble around AED, and their invoicing pretends VAT does not exist.

Chronix Hub runs every tenant in a single currency you pick at signup. For Dubai studios that is AED. Receipts, payroll, invoices, and reports all stay in dirhams, which makes the monthly FTA submission less painful than living in an exported spreadsheet. Invoices support VAT-inclusive line items and break out the 5% tax line on the PDF so your accountant does not have to recompute totals.

On the payment side, we do not process cards. You keep your Network International or MAGNATI terminal at whatever rate your bank negotiated, and Chronix Hub records every swipe as a labeled payment so reports group cleanly by processor and method. The same applies to bank transfers, PayBy, Tabby installments, and cash, they all become labels in your POS, not separate integrations we have to maintain.

Currency and payment labels in Dubai

Run your studio in AED end to end. Receipts, invoices, payroll, and reports all stay in dirhams, no conversion guesswork at month end.

Tenant-defined payment-method labels you can track in reports: every payment you log gets attached to one of your studio's labels, and reports group revenue by label. These are for record-keeping, not payment rails: Chronix Hub does not process cards or move money on any of these channels.

VAT is 5% in the UAE. Most studios are registered if turnover exceeds AED 375,000. Chronix Hub invoicing supports VAT-inclusive line items and tax-line breakouts on the PDF.

Pricing for Dubai studios

Dubai studios pay USD $49/month under founder pricing (~AED 180) for the Starter plan. Compared to Mindbody's $99-699 base or Glofox's $130+/month, Chronix Hub typically lands at half the all-in monthly software cost.

Studios in Dubai that fit this shape

Composite examples drawn from the Dubai market. None of these are specific real studios — they describe the operational shape Chronix Hub fits well.

DIFC · Reformer pilates

A DIFC reformer pilates studio

Eight reformers, lunchtime corporate clients from neighbouring law firms, large 10-pack packages billed in AED. Owner needed VAT-line invoices for the corporate clients without exporting every order to Excel.

Dubai Marina · Boxing

A boxing gym in Marina

Three coaches, evening classes packed with finance-sector residents, monthly unlimited memberships paid by recurring bank transfer. Late-cancel discipline matters because classes run 1:6 and a no-show costs a coach a real payroll line.

Jumeirah Beach Residence · Pilates / barre

A JBR pilates and barre studio

Heavy tourist mix in winter, AED prices on the schedule, drop-ins paid by card or Apple Pay at the front desk. Owner switched off Mindbody because the 12-month contract did not flex with low-season cash flow.

Al Quoz · CrossFit

An Al Quoz CrossFit affiliate

Two coaches, capped daily classes, a strong on-ramp programme that sells separately as a six-week package. Coach wanted instructor payroll to handle a per-head bonus on the on-ramp without re-running last month's CSV.

How Chronix Hub compares in Dubai

Mindbody and Glofox both bill in USD and lock you into their own payment processors at 2.7-3.5% per card. For a Dubai studio doing AED 100,000/month in card revenue, a 0.5% rate delta over your existing Network International terminal is roughly AED 6,000/year, usually more than the platform subscription itself. Chronix Hub records AED in AED, leaves your processor alone, and stays month-to-month.

Dubai studio software FAQ

Does Chronix Hub handle UAE VAT?

Yes. Invoicing supports VAT-inclusive or VAT-exclusive line items at the 5% UAE rate, and the PDF breaks out the tax line so it lines up with what the FTA expects on a tax invoice. We are not a bookkeeping system, so you still file VAT through your accountant, but the underlying receipts and invoices will be in the right shape.

Can we use our existing Network International terminal?

Yes. Chronix Hub does not process card payments and does not require you to switch processors. You keep your Network International or MAGNATI terminal at whatever rate your bank negotiated. Card swipes are recorded in Chronix Hub as labeled payments for reporting only, the money still moves through your bank.

Is Tabby or Tamara supported?

As payment-method labels for record-keeping, yes. We do not run installment lending ourselves, when a client pays via Tabby at your terminal or your link, you log the payment in Chronix Hub using a Tabby label so reports group correctly. We do not currently integrate directly with Tabby or Tamara APIs.

Can clients book in Arabic?

The client portal currently runs in English with the class names and studio name you set, so you can absolutely list classes in Arabic. Full RTL Arabic UI is on the roadmap, not yet shipped.

Will the schedule work across Ramadan timing changes?

Yes. Recurring class schedules can be edited week-by-week from the admin calendar, so the typical Dubai practice of shifting evening classes later during Ramadan is handled the same way you'd handle a one-off public-holiday change.

How do we handle visiting trainers on short visa stints?

Each trainer is a staff record with their own pay configuration. You can add a trainer, configure their per-class rate or revenue share, run their payroll for the season, then deactivate them at the end of their stint, past payroll stays sealed and untouched.

What does it cost in AED?

Pricing is in USD on the platform. The Starter plan is $49/month under founder pricing, roughly AED 180/month at current rates. There are no add-ons; payroll, POS, invoicing, and the client portal are included.
